An agricultural worker’s dwelling for an alpaca farm
Cotswold Architects was commissioned to design an agricultural worker’s dwelling for an alpaca farm in South Cerney, near Cirencester. The site is an agricultural smallholding.
Designing within tight constraints
The Meadow Fields Farm project involved several constraints. These included a strict limit on gross internal floor area, proximity to a military explosives site and challenging clay ground conditions.
A traditional Cotswold stone farmhouse over three floors
Our bespoke house design takes the form of a traditional Cotswold stone farmhouse arranged over three floors. The slate roof has three dormers, with stone chimneys at each gable and an arched stone porch at the front door. The interiors combine contemporary living spaces with traditional detailing.
A triple garage, office and outdoor pool
The wider scheme at Meadow Fields Farm includes a triple garage with separate external access to an office above, together with an outdoor swimming pool.
A practical home for the smallholding
The completed farmhouse provides a practical home for the smallholding while reflecting the architectural character of its rural surroundings.
